A classic set of lash extensions in Toronto runs about $75. A gel manicure is around $80. Knotless braids sit near $180, and bridal makeup around $200. Those are median prices taken from the actual price lists of 125 home-based and Instagram-only beauty vendors in Toronto, not estimates.

Most price guides quote a range someone made up, or they quote salon rates that have nothing to do with what a home-based lash tech charges. We had a different option available: 125 Toronto beauty vendors on BuzzGram publish their full price lists, which comes to 2,278 individual priced services. So we added them up.

The short answer

Service areaVendorsTypical rangeMedian
Lashes67$40 to $120$80
Nails19$35 to $100$75
Hair27$85 to $185$130
Makeup12$36 to $300$150

The "typical range" is the middle half of all prices in that category. A quarter of services cost less than the bottom number and a quarter cost more than the top. It is a more honest picture than a minimum-to-maximum range, which always gets dragged around by one outlier.

How much do lash extensions cost in Toronto?

Lashes are where we have the most data by a wide margin: 67 Toronto vendors and 1,329 priced services. The numbers here are solid.

ServiceVendors offering itTypical rangeMedian
Classic set39$60 to $95$75
Hybrid set41$70 to $120$90
Volume set43$80 to $130$100
Mega volume29$90 to $150$110
Fill46$60 to $90$75
Lash lift31$75 to $105$95
Removal42$15 to $30$20

The step from classic to volume is about $25 across the board, which is consistent enough across 43 vendors that you can treat it as the going rate rather than one artist's preference.

Fills are the number worth paying attention to. A fill costs nearly as much as a classic full set, and you will need one every two to three weeks. Budget for the fill schedule, not the first appointment.

How much do nails cost in Toronto?

From 19 Toronto nail vendors and 267 priced services.

ServiceVendors offering itTypical rangeMedian
Gel11$65 to $100$80
Acrylic4$45 to $70$55
Manicure5$55 to $70$60
Fill11$20 to $90$60
Removal8$10 to $20$15

Fills have the widest spread of anything we looked at, from $20 to $90. That is not inconsistency, it is a labelling difference. Some techs price a fill as the labour only, others quote a fill on a full set with new art included. Ask which one you are being quoted.

Nail art is almost always separate, and it is usually priced per nail. A set quoted at $80 can land closer to $110 once you add art on eight fingers.

How much does hair cost in Toronto?

From 27 Toronto hair vendors and 496 priced services. Protective styling makes up most of what home-based stylists in Toronto offer.

ServiceVendors offering itTypical rangeMedian
Knotless braids4$150 to $215$180
Braids (all types)6$115 to $195$160
Wig install6$115 to $160$125
Colour6$90 to $100$90

Braiding prices move with length and size, and most stylists list several tiers. The medians above cover all tiers together, so treat them as the middle of the menu rather than a quote.

Hair is also the category where appointments run longest. A knotless install is commonly a four to seven hour booking, which is worth knowing before you take the last slot of the day.

How much does makeup cost in Toronto?

Makeup has the smallest sample of the four, 12 Toronto vendors and 186 priced services, so read these as indicative.

ServiceVendors offering itTypical rangeMedian
Bridal makeup6$150 to $295$200
All makeup services12$36 to $300$150

Makeup has the widest spread of any beauty category in Toronto, and the reason is that a single price list often contains a $40 lash application and a $600 wedding party package. The median is real, but the category average tells you very little on its own.

Two things are usually quoted separately: travel to your location, and the trial session before a wedding. Ask about both up front.

Why are home-based vendors usually cheaper?

A home-based lash tech has no storefront lease, no front desk, and no chair rental to cover before she has earned anything. A salon has to price all of that into every appointment. That is most of the difference.

What you trade is convenience rather than skill. Many home-based vendors trained and worked in salons first. What you give up is walk-in availability, evening and weekend slots that are easy to grab, and the ability to find them on Google, which is why they are so hard to discover in the first place.

How to read a price list without getting surprised

  • Check whether removal is included. It usually is not. Lash removal has a median of $20 and nail removal $15, so it is small but it is real.
  • Ask what a "fill" covers. This is the single most common source of a bill that does not match the quote.
  • Assume nail art is extra. Almost always per nail.
  • Ask about travel. Mobile makeup artists and hairstylists often charge for it and rarely list it.
  • Confirm the deposit. Most home-based vendors take one, and most do not refund it for a no-show.

How we got these numbers

Every figure comes from price lists published by vendors on BuzzGram, pulled in August 2026. We used 2,278 individual priced services from 125 Toronto beauty vendors.

We report medians rather than averages, because a single $900 wedding package will drag an average somewhere useless. Where a specific service is named, we only included it when at least four separate vendors offer it, so no single price list can define a category on its own. Vendor counts are shown in every table so you can weigh them yourself.

One honest limitation: these are listed prices, not paid prices. Length, complexity and add-ons move the final number, and a few vendors list a starting price rather than a flat rate.

Generally yes, because there is no storefront rent, front desk or chair rental priced into each appointment. The tradeoff is availability and discoverability rather than skill, since many home-based vendors trained in salons.

How often do lash extensions need a fill?

Every two to three weeks for most people. Since the median fill is $75 and a classic full set is $75, the ongoing cost matters more than the first appointment when you are budgeting.
