Vendor Payment Terms

For businesses accepting payment through BuzzGram. These terms apply in addition to our Terms of Service.

1. What this covers

These terms apply if you switch on BuzzGram Payments and take card payments through the Platform. Taking payments is optional. Your listing works the same either way, and nothing here affects how you appear on BuzzGram.

You will also complete onboarding with Stripe, our payment processor, and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement directly with them. That agreement is separate from this one.

2. Fees and what you receive

BuzzGram charges a 5% service fee, added on top of your price and paid by the customer. You keep your price.

Card processing costs come out of your side — currently around 2.9% plus 30¢ per transaction, set by Stripe, not by us. International cards cost more; where they exceed the standard rate, BuzzGram absorbs the difference.

So on a $100 service: the customer pays $105, roughly $3.30 goes to card processing, BuzzGram keeps $5, and about $96.70 reaches you.

There is no monthly fee and nothing to pay when you do not sell.

3. Payouts

Stripe pays out to the bank account you connect, on a weekly schedule. Timing is controlled by Stripe and your bank, not by BuzzGram.

Your first payout may take longer while Stripe completes identity verification. If Stripe is waiting on something from you, your BuzzGram dashboard will say what.

4. Pricing your services honestly

The price you publish must be a price a customer can actually pay. If a fee always applies — travel inside your area, a setup charge, a minimum — build it into the price rather than adding it later.

This is not only our preference. Under Canada's Competition Act, advertising a price that is not attainable because of mandatory additional charges is prohibited. Only amounts imposed by law, such as sales tax, may be excluded.

5. Refunds

If you cancel or do not provide what the customer paid for, the customer is entitled to a full refund, including the BuzzGram service fee. You can arrange this with them directly, or contact us and we will process it.

Where a refund is made because you cancelled or did not deliver, the refunded amount is recovered from your balance or a future payout. Stripe does not return its processing fee on a refund, and that cost stays with you.

For anything else — change of mind, or a customer unhappy with work that was in fact delivered — the decision is yours. Our service fee is not refunded in those cases.

6. Chargebacks

A chargeback is when a customer disputes a charge with their bank. BuzzGram is the merchant of record, so disputes come to us first and we will tell you when one is raised and what evidence we need from you.

Where a dispute results from you not delivering, cancelling without refunding, or misdescribing what you offer, the disputed amount and any related fee are recoverable from your balance or future payouts.

Repeated disputes may result in payments being switched off for your account. Card networks hold platforms to dispute thresholds, and we have to manage that across all vendors.

7. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Providing the goods or services a customer has paid for, at the agreed quality and time;
  • Holding any licence, permit, registration or insurance your work requires, including food-handling and public health requirements where they apply;
  • Your own tax obligations, including registering for and remitting sales tax where required. BuzzGram does not calculate, collect or remit tax on your behalf;
  • Keeping your published prices and services accurate; and
  • Scheduling. BuzzGram has no calendar or booking system, and a payment does not reserve a date unless you confirm it.

8. Suspension

We may switch off payments for your account if we reasonably believe there is fraud, a pattern of non-delivery, repeated chargebacks, or a breach of these terms. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Stripe may also restrict an account independently of us, under its own agreement with you.

9. Changes

If we change the service fee or anything material in these terms, we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to accept payments after that means you accept the change. You can switch payments off at any time and keep your listing.
