When someone types "nail tech in Toronto under $60 who does chrome" into BuzzGram, something has to decide which vendors come back. This is what that process looks like, and what you can do about it.

It reads meaning, not keywords

The search does not look for listings containing the word "chrome." It converts the request into a mathematical representation of what was asked, and compares it against the same representation of every active business. Vendors whose services are close in meaning come back, whether or not they used the customer's exact words.

The practical consequence: writing a wall of keywords does not help. Describing your actual services in normal language does, because that is what gets compared.

Your services are the part that matters most

A profile with a name, a handle and nothing else is nearly invisible to this. There is very little to compare against.

A profile with a real service menu is dense with the exact information customers ask about: what you do, what each thing is called, what it costs. Every service you list widens the set of questions you can be the answer to.

This is the single biggest difference between vendors who get surfaced and vendors who do not. It is not a ranking trick. There is genuinely more to match against.

Priced vendors are shown first

Browse pages show a limited number of vendors before a customer has to load more, so ordering decides who gets seen. Vendors with real pricing on their services are placed ahead of vendors without.

The reason is straightforward: customers are usually asking about cost, and a listing with no price cannot answer them. It is a soft boost rather than a filter, so an unpriced profile is still listed and still findable. It just sits lower.

Adding prices is the fastest change most vendors can make to how often they are seen.

Prices belong on the specific thing

Services can be nested: a group like "Lash Extensions" with variations underneath such as Classic, Hybrid and Volume. Prices usually belong on the variations, because that is where they differ.

Vendors sometimes price the top-level group and leave the variations empty, which reads as one price for a menu that actually has three. Price the variation a customer books.

What it will not do

It will not invent availability, and it does not know your calendar. Scheduling happens between you and the customer as it always has.

It will not describe services you have not listed. If you do bridal but only listed "makeup," bridal requests may not reach you.

It will not rank you higher for paying us. There is no promoted placement.

What it looks like from the customer's side

Worth knowing, because it explains why the advice above works. A customer types what they want in ordinary language — a service, a city, sometimes a budget or a date — and gets vendors whose menus actually match, with prices attached. No hashtag guessing and no messaging five people to find out who is in range.

Every field you fill in is a question you become the answer to. The listing that is easiest for a customer to judge is the same listing the search can place most confidently.

A short checklist

List every service you actually offer, named the way a customer would say it. Put prices on the variations people book. Keep your description about what you do rather than adjectives. Remove services you no longer offer, since they can pull you into requests you do not want.

FAQ

Does adding more services always help?

Adding services you genuinely offer helps. Padding your menu with things you do not do produces mismatched enquiries and wasted messages on both sides.

Do I have to publish prices?

No. Vendors without prices are still listed and still returned. They are ordered behind priced vendors on browse pages, because a customer asking about cost cannot be answered by a listing that has none.

Can I pay to rank higher?

No. There is no paid placement.

How quickly do profile changes take effect?

Edits to your services and prices appear on your page immediately. The matching index behind AI search refreshes periodically rather than instantly, so a brand-new service may take a little time to surface there.

Why am I showing up for the wrong requests?

Usually an old service still on the menu, or a description written broadly enough to match things you do not want. Tightening both fixes it.
